About Myrto
Myrto Papadopoulou studied Ceramics at Stoke on Trent and Wolverhampton University in the UK, completing a BA and MA degree respectively and graduating in 2002. Since then Myrto worked as a teacher for 12 years and has spent the last eight years focused on making unique sculptural vessels.
Myrto’s work represents organic shapes and textures based on natural movement and flow through the body of the vessels and towards the rim of the vases, as these are uniquely developed during the hand making sculpting process.
Myrto uses stoneware clay and often experiments with different glazes in low and high temperatures. She draws abundant inspiration from Ancient Greek pottery by providing a contemporary spin and experimenting with colours, textures and shapes.
